My Work
Many of my paintings are based on photographs I have taken of old boats in Cornwall's boatyards and on beaches, with their peeling paint, scraped hulls, rusty rudders, the more worn the better. However because of the close-up abstract nature of them they sometimes apear to be landscapes. I also love old doors, locks, corrugated iron, old mining machinery. I am drawn to holes and circles, ropes and twisting branches, patterns and textures. Shapes can appear randomly in my paintings which are carried out intuitively.
